Our babysitting training course will help campers learn the basics about what to do in an emergency, choosing age-appropriate activities, recognizing and handling a range of behaviors, learning how to start their own babysitting business, developing leadership skills, helping keep themselves and others safe, helping children learn how to behave, and learning basic first aid. This is a great one day camp to help potential babysitters and older siblings! The course will involve an online American Red Cross training portion in which students will receive a babysitting certification.

16 children. 13 Challenges. 8 hours (2 per day). One Survivor! The children will form two teams, after randomly drawing a buff. Just like on real survivor, not everyone will know each other. The teams will compete in challenges for immunity and reward. Your child will learn a great lesson about being a team player and honest competition. When a player is voted out, he or she will continue to participate, but cannot participate in the tribal council. Each child will receive a gift/reward bag, along with a survivor bandana and tie-dye t-shirt. Each day, your survivor needs to wear a t-shirt and shorts with pockets. A ‘survivor’ themed snack will be served every day. Each challenge will focus on a specific skill: strategy, giving/following directions, balance/aim, puzzle, courage, mind over matter, strength, endurance and memory.

Learn different techniques and styles of dance to be performed at the end of the week for the parents.  Campers will be divided into groups and taught correct form and names for individual skills in jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop.  Campers will also play games involving dance moves.  At the end of the week a T-shirt will be given to wear for performance.  Dancers will perform throughout the year at select Football & Basketball games. Students will create a customized design to be printed on a t-shirt. Students will learn how to create a design from scratch. Then learn how to transform that design into a stencil that can be printed onto the shirt. The students will then learn the printed process of applying the design onto their shirt. The last thing we will do is learn t-shirt cutting techniques to add a special touch to the final product. Included in the camp will be a completed custom made shirt. On the last day we will do a photoshoot to capture and display the final product.

This camp will give your child a taste of Kindergarten. Those first day jitters can be overwhelming and sometimes a little scary. This camp is offered to students already enrolled in CA’s Kindergarten program for the 2017-2018 school year, in order to make the first days more comfortable. Students will spend time with each teacher in order to become more familiar with our Kindergarten teaching staff. The campers will tour a Kindergarten classroom and become comfortable with the activity centers and learning areas in the room. Campers will explore learning through center activities, iPads, and creative play. This will give these students a head start as they transition to Kindergarten.

The major concepts we will focus on during this camp include multi-digit multiplication, long division, equivalent fractions, and fraction operations.
